Cooking from Heart:
The Origin Story of a Passionate Chef

It all started when I was six years old, watching my mother cook. She has always been my greatest inspiration in the kitchen. It all fascinated me, and a love for gastronomy began to emerge. Since I was a child, I enjoyed creating my own dishes and inventions. I also have a strong influence from the countryside. A dear farm cook, Dona Liquinha, was another significant influence. She selected the chickens, picked vegetables from the orchard, and cooked on the wood stove—what a memory! As I grew up, other interests emerged, but my love for cooking remained. As a hobby, I took courses in Japanese and Chinese cuisine until one day I decided to fully embark on this path, eventually graduating from a cooking course.

I have worked in important places that helped me grow, but I also realized that, unfortunately, this profession in Brazil lacks luxury. Often considered a sub-employment, the days were long and the pay was short. In 2014, I decided, along with my girlfriend (now wife), to embark on a new experience and study in Canada. I feel that Vancouver was where everything truly began for me. I worked for almost four years at a Sky station as a Sous Chef, and in March 2019, I decided to open Good 2 Go. Many people don't know the challenges of entrepreneurship, especially when far from family support and in a different culture. I remember that during the first year of my business, almost every day, my wife and my six-month-old son would help me deliver the few meals I had sold. But more than just entrepreneurship, my true love for Brazilian cuisine was stronger, and it helps us overcome challenges every day. Today, despite all the difficulties of trying to provide the best for my loved ones, I still believe that our food can bring comfort not only to us but also to others who live far from their families. That's the main motto of our company. We don't know for how long, but as long as this passion burns inside me, I will give my best to Good 2 Go customers.
